Jack Schnoor Memorial Scholarship

The Jack Schnoor Memorial Scholarship awareds $1,200.00 each academic year*

An endowment fund has been created by friends and family in the memory of Jack Schnoor. From this fund an anual scholarship will be awarded to a Sheridan student. Jack taught at Sheridan College for 17 years (1980 – 1997) in the Social Service Program. His devoted teaching and personable style left a lasting impression on his students and colleagues. In 1999, 2 years after he retired, Jack was honoured with the title Professor Emeritus. He passed away in 2001 at the age of 66. The Schnoor family would like to honour a student who emulates Jack Schnoor’s strong qualities of caring and interpersonal skills.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Open to both domestic and international students
  • Enrolled full-time in one of the following programs:
    Social Service Worker
    Social Service Worker – Gerontology
  • 3.0 GPA (previous Sheridan full-time GPA required)
  • Demonstrate strong qualities of caring and interpersonal skills
