Sheridan Continuing Education Bursary
Winter 2026
The Financial Aid & Awards Office administers the Sheridan Continuing Education Bursary.
Purpose
To provide financial support to students enrolled in a Sheridan Continuing Education program with low family income and resources.
This Bursary is designed to provide students with financial assistance up to $1,000 per academic year towards the cost of tuition plus other direct educational costs, including compulsory fees, books & supplies, transportation, and childcare.
Funding will be awarded to eligible applicants until it has been exhausted.
Sheridan Black Students Bursary
Sheridan has identified funds to support Black students with financial bursaries to help offset the costs of their Sheridan education. The bursary will be awarded once per academic year to Black students based on financial need. Recipients must also be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons, and must be Ontario residents.
One application per term will be considered.
Courses starting between September to December are considered the Fall term
Courses starting between January to April are considered the Winter term
Courses starting between May to August are considered the Spring term
Eligibility
You may be eligible for a Sheridan Continuing Education Bursary if you:
- Are a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person as defined in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada)
- Have family income below the applicable threshold

- Are not receiving funding from:
Better Jobs Ontario
The Ontario Bridging Participant Assistant Program (OBPAP)
The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)
The Canada Student Financial Assistance Program (CSFA Program)
A student financial assistance program from another province, territory, or country
- Are taking courses that are required for a Sheridan College Certificate, Recognition of Achievement, or Micro-Credential
- Are enrolled in a study period that is at least four weeks in length
Process
You have until the final day of your course(s) to apply for the Bursary. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. You are responsible for paying class registration costs, as bursary applications will not be reviewed until after the withdrawal deadline has passed. Applications will be considered in the order in which they are received.
All Bursary communications, including notification of the decision, will be sent to your Sheridan student email address.
Funding received through this Bursary is taxable. Sheridan will issue a T4A in February of the following year, indicating the total amount of bursary assistance issued. Please ensure that your Social Insurance Number (SIN) is updated on your Sheridan student record. Instructions on updating your SIN can be found here.
Academic Progress
To maintain future eligibility for the Sheridan Continuing Education Bursary, you must successfully complete all courses funded through this opportunity. To reinstate your eligibility for the Bursary, you must self-fund one term.
